Chris West has followed a career in leadership,
management and teaching in secondary, further and higher education and
educational businesses. His focus is strategic change for the
improvement of learning through e-learning and professional development.
He has worked for government and government agencies to progress
e-learning and e-support for UK and international education.
As a consultant and Managing Director of Granada Learning
Professional Development, he has applied e-learning to raise standards
in teaching and learning in UK schools and colleges. This has included
winning and delivering major contracts for the Training and Development
Agency for Schools and the National College for School Leadership. He is
presently managing the regional delivery of a blended learning
transformation programme in the Learning and Skills sector. As Managing
Director of Anglia Campus, he developed a national e-learning service
for schools.
As Chief Executive of ECCTIS, Chris led the UK higher
education e-courses information service for the DfES, providing high
quality information to support student choice. He won and delivered the
contract to run the UK NARIC service for DfES and EU providing
information worldwide on the equivalence of UK and international
qualifications.
Chris’s academic career included being Vice Principal of
a large further education college. He led national information
technology research and development projects in futher and higher
education, including a secondment to the DfES.
He has worked extensively with ministries in EU
countries, South Africa and Argentina.
